The Dusahn Empire has been contained for the moment. But there is much work to be done in order to keep them from reasserting their dominance over the Pentaurus sector. As much as Captain Scott wants to see the Empire destroyed, he may have no choice but to find a way to coexist with them.

A cargo ship in distress . . . A mysterious stowaway in an SA pod . . . A crash-landing on a distant, unexplored world . . . An unexpected rescue by an equally unexpected friend . . . Captain Scott and his cohorts are lost in space, and time is running out. To make matters worse, the Free Fleet are not the only ones looking for them.

The Aurora begins clearing a 20 light year sphere of safety around Earth, taking out Jung forces as they liberate the core systems. However, Captain Scott and the Alliance quickly discover that not every world wants to be liberated, and the Jung have a few surprises of their own.

The Free Fleet has captured two of the largest assets ever created, but those they took them from will not give them up without a fight. Unfortunately, there is only one way to shake the pursuit, and their enemy knows this. The Free Fleet is about to face their biggest battle yet, and the odds will not be in their favor.

Captain Scott and the crew of the Aurora face the reality of a galaxy that is, in many ways, worse off than the one they left behind. But in doing so, they discover a new mission for the Aurora's namesake, her captain, and her crew.

Time is running out. An ally has all but fallen. Resources are running low. The time for attack has come... The Alliance must strike deep into the heart of the empire. This time, the Aurora will be going home, or going to her grave.

Captain Scott has lost his entire family, save his sister, who needs better medical care than the Aurora can provide. Nathan, his friends, and the crew of the Seiiki must leave the Karuzari fleet to fend for themselves while they try to find a way to save Miri.

The Free Ship Aurora has taken on a new responsibility: To protect even those who do not ask to be protected. But to do so, they will have to take an ambitious, against incredible odds....
