While Marine veteran Jerry McNeal and his ghostly K-9 companion Gunter are no strangers to foul weather, they face their biggest challenge to date when they find themselves knee deep in freshly fallen snow while they make their way across country to deliver a special present for Max’s thirteenth birthday. They soon find themselves snowbound on the interstate with dozens of other holiday travelers – including a pregnant woman worried about her husband, who left in search of help when his cell phone couldn’t get a signal.

Feeling guilty at not having made his engagement to April official over the Christmas holidays, Jerry seeks to join her and Max for their annual after-Christmas getaway to Frankenmuth, Michigan. Not only is he looking forward to visiting the quaint Bavarian town, but since the town is known to visitors as a Christmas town, he sees this as a way to recreate the holiday spirit and finally make a commitment to both April and her daughter.

This 14th installment of the Jerry McNeal Series has Jerry and Gunter heading to Texas. Along the way, Jerry finds himself dealing with unexpected visitors who challenge his patience and further test his psychic abilities. Among the visitors is the ghostly spirit of Texas Ranger, Clive Tisdale, who is not a fan of dogs, refuses to tell Jerry why he is there, and if his presence has anything to do with Texas Ranger Raymond Hale.
