In this important work, Georges Bataille uses his novel economic theory as the basis for an incisive inquiry into the very nature of civilization. This book is aimed at newcomers to the field of logical reasoning, particularly those who, to borrow a phrase from Pascal, are so made that they understand best through visuals. Sartor Resartus is one of the most unusual, even quirky, British novels to emerge from the first half of the 19th century.
