The Spirits Book (1857), written by Allan Kardec, is widely regarded as the most important piece of writing in the spiritist canon. It is the first in a series of five books that Kardec wrote that are collectively known as the Spiritist Codification. Although the other four books, The Medium's Book, The Gospel According to Spiritism, Heaven and Hell, and The Genesis According to Spiritism, are of great importance to the Spiritist movement, it is The Spirits Book that lays out the doctrine of the belief system.

The Law of Success (originally The Law of Success in 16 Lessons) is the title of Napoleon Hill's first book set, published initially in 1928 as a multi-volume correspondence course and later more compact formats in recent years. The work was originally commissioned at the request of Andrew Carnegie at the conclusion of a multi-day interview with Hill, and was based upon interviews of over 100 American millionaires across nearly 20 years.

An exemplary travelogue of danger and achievement by the Frenchwoman Madame Alexandra David-Neel of her 1923 expedition to Tibet, the fifth in her series of Asian travels and her personal recounting of her journey to Lhasa, Tibet's forbidden city. In order to penetrate Tibet and reach Lhasa, she used her fluency of Tibetan dialects and culture, disguised herself as a beggar with yak hair extensions and inked skin, and tackled some of the roughest terrain and climate in the world.

This work is, in the words of Madame Blavatsky, "meant for the few only". In the phraseology of this work, it is in-tended neither for those Ajnanis (or the worldly-minded), who welter in the sea of Samsara without being indifferent to the worldly things nor for those higher spiritual person ages who have reached a state of adeptship, so as to be above all advice. Hence it is written in the interests of those wbo have become indifferent to worldly things and crave for spirituality becoming a potent factor in their daily lives.

Honor the great within and your life will be blessed with love, abundance, and freedom. The purpose of consciously and intelligently directing the subconscious is first, to correct every wrong, every flaw, every defect, every perversion, and every imperfect condition that may exist in the personality of man; and, second, to bring out into fuller expression the limitless possibilities that exist in the great within.

We see on all sides men who seem to exert a wonderful and mysterious mental influence upon others - upon those associated with them, or upon the public mind.
