This is a selection of works by three famous Irishmen: Oscar Wilde, W. B. Yeats and Bram Stoker. It includes: the short story by Bram Stoker, "Dracula's Guest"; Oscar Wilde's poem "Humanitad" and three versions of his "The Ballad of Reading Gaol"; and finally, an early collection of poetry called The Rose by W. B. Yeats. There is a general introduction by the writer and actor Tim Dalgleish and other additional material.

This collection contains Oscar Wilde's four best-known comedies: The Importance of Being Earnest; Lady Windermere's Fan; An Ideal Husband; and A Woman of No Importance. All of them satirize upper-class English society of the 1890s, dramatizing scandalous secrets, political and marital intrigue, and dandyish bad behavior with Wilde's trademark wit and wisdom.

The classic haunting tale by Oscar Wilde, "The Canterville Ghost" is the story of an American family moving in to the ancient Canterville Chase in England, which has all the accoutrements of the traditional English haunted house! Lord Simon Canterville, the resident denizen of the afterlife, haunts the halls of this hallowed home with all the superiority his ghostly skills have afforded him lo these past centuries. "The Canterville Ghost" is a popular short story by Oscar Wilde, widely adapted for the screen and stage. It was the first of Wilde's stories to be published, appearing in the magazine "The Court and Society Review" in February 1887. It was later included in a collection of short stories entitled "Lord Arthur Savile's Crime and Other Stories" in 1891. The American Minister and his family have bought the English stately home Canterville Chase, complete with the ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville - blood stains, clanking chains and all.

The Importance of Being Earnest is Wilde's most famous and oft-produced play. First performed in 1895, and subtitled "A Trivial Comedy for Serious People", it shows Wilde at his satirical and scathingly witty best. It follows the misadventures of Algy and Jack as they attempt to woo and wed Cecily and Gwendolen under the assumed name "Ernest", much to the disapproval of the aristocratic Lady Bracknell.

Six lyrical parables, each with a typically Wildean twist: "The Artist"; "The Doer of Good"; "The Disciple"; "The Master"; "The House of Judgment"; "The Teacher of Wisdom". Published in 1894, but written earlier.
