Outside of the riverfront Drake Energy plant, Smoke and Sidney prepare themselves for the final showdown with Kane. It's all or nothing as they find themselves inside a hive full of countless shifting enemies, some new and some old, in a modern-day labyrinth full of surprises.

Unexpected vows...Having fought for their very lives to escape the clutches of Kane Lancaster, Smoke and Sid find themselves face-to-face with one of the most important decisions of their lives. Marriage. While Sid mulls over Smokes proposition to be her husband, he sets out to do the right thing on his own and engages in a lengthy visit with Sid's parents, Sally and Keith. He departs only to find himself in the center of a man hunt. He is chased down by another group of strange goggle-wearing thugs that he has never encountered before.

Congressman Wilhelm is shot, and video evidence reveals John Smoke as the shooter. The manhunt for Smoke begins, and Sid's life is turned upside down trying to exonerate the man she thinks she loves.

Bounty hunter John Smoke has been at a loss ever since Sidney Shaw's abrupt departure. After weeks of finding no trace of her, Smoke has an unanticipated encounter with Reginald, the doppelganger. Smoke discovers that if he wants to see Sid again, he needs to perform a mission: hunt down and take out a rival criminal underworld called the Many. He finds out that he has been played, but he has no choice but to go along with it if he wants to see Sidney again.

Months after bringing down the last mark on the Black Slate, Sidney finds herself more isolated than ever. Buried in paperwork at the FBI, her feelings about the Deep Black operation begin to fester. Just when she’s about to lose it, Section Chief Ted Howard intervenes. The Black Slate has another assignment, but there’s a problem: John Smoke is nowhere to be found. Enter Mason Crow, the next name on the Slate. The file indicates that the man is an international butcher and has now taken his brutality to DC.

Now that Sidney is no longer an FBI agent, she is restless. Not knowing what to do with herself, she leaves Megan with the grandparents so she can have some time alone to figure things out. During a visit to the shooting range, things get interesting when an old guy called Big Jake outshoots Sid and then saves her from two huge goons who smell like the Drake. Matters take a turn for the worst soon after when Big Jake turns up dead.

Sidney thinks she’s getting the hang of things only to find herself at odds once again with her annoying and unappreciative supervisor, Cyrus Tweel. To make matters worse, there’s been no talk about the Black Slate or the whereabouts of Smoke, leaving her in the dark and feeling more isolated than ever. During a stakeout with Cyrus, strange things begin to emerge. Black suns and oddly familiar children begin to show up. The Drake’s fingerprints seem to be on everything with which she’s involved.

Having battled and defeated every adversary in his path, Abraham and the Henchmen’s bond grows stronger when a darker fate intervenes. The King demands satisfaction. The quest to complete the Crown of Stones is far from over. The eager king thrusts another mysterious Henchmen into the group, a wizard with god-like powers, but can he be trusted?

But the peaceful River Folk are also controlled by the soldiers of Barnabus, and Nath and company struggle to find allies among them. And what terror lies in the Floating City, the key to it all? Can Nath Dragon find his way in and find a way out again?

They want Nath Dragon ... Brenwar, Shum, Bayzog and Sasha's lives hang in the balance deep inside the crater. Ben discovers Garrison is an ally of the Clerics of Barnabus and has to handle it on his own. The War Priest Kryzak's diabolical plans continue to unfold with one trap after another. The High Priestess Selene's army is hunting the heroes down. Sansla Libor, the winged ape, still lingers nearby. Is he a threat or an ally? Nath Dragon's powers will be pushed to the limits.

In the grasp.... As darkness seeps over the land, Nath Dragon and company embark on a journey to the Land of the Elves in pursuit of the Occular of Orray. Under the watchful eye of his friends?Brenwar the Dwarf, Shum the Elven Rover, Bayzog the part-Elf wizard, and Sasha the sorceress? Nath finds himself wanting to test his set of two Dragon arms. The Clerics of Barnabus are after Nath Dragon, tracking his every move.

Kam the mage and Lefty Lightfoot struggle to find a way out of The Nest, but will they need the help of a far more dangerous ally? What hand, if any, will Scorch have in all of this? Will another Darkslayer rise amid the chaos?

The Truce has crumbled and Nath Dragon must face his most fatal foe, Gorn Grattack. Can he do it alone? Is the High Priestess Selene now a friend, ally, or a bitter enemy? Nath only has moments to figure that out before the final claws close in. Alone, against the most merciless monster in all of Nalzambor, Nath Dragon stands tall. But will it be enough?

Captive to Selene and the five-year Truce, Nath itches to know that his friends are well. Yet he can't seem to change into dragon form again. Maybe if he jumps from this balcony... Brenwar, Pilpin, Shum, and Hoven see the signs that the Dragon King is rallying his dragon army. Gorlee feels drawn to The Deep, certain he will regain his memories down there.

Find Nath Dragon...The Clerics of Barnabus are dead set on capturing Nath Dragon. High Priestess Selene wants him, but why, even Finnius does not know. Brenwar Bolderguild begins his search of Nalzambor to find Nath, who has escaped his supervision. Nath's father had warned Brenwar not to lose Nath because losing Nath to evil will trigger the next Dragon War. There's more. Who has taken over in Quinley, and why are there elves in Quintucklen?

The final leg of the fatal journey is at hand as Grey Cloak and Dyphestive cling to survive in the darkest corners of Gapoli and other worlds abroad. It will take more than armies to defeat Black Frost and his diabolical minions, who continue to grow in strength in power. No man, woman, or beast will escape the wrath of the gargantuan terrifying terror, but the fearless Blood Brothers and their comrades will stop at nothing to rid the world, once and for all, of the evil menace or die trying.
