When a UFO is sighted hovering in Branson Falls, Ella and Sophie make it their personal mission to meet some aliens. With those two scheming together, shenanigans are bound to happen and Kate decides she better go along for damage control. Waiting for a potential abduction is pretty dull...until one of Kate’s sexy suitors shows up. Suddenly, a UFO is no longer the most exciting thing happening in the mountains above Branson Falls.

The leaves are falling, the Halloween carnival is in full swing, and someone is robbing the residents of Branson Falls, Utah. There is no rhyme or reason to the crimes, but after an elderly widow is targeted, the town is up in arms - literally, and everyone is pointing fingers straight at the owners of the new tattoo shop, Inked AF.

Deputy Elliot James is a walking—and flying—contradiction. A loner crow. An outlaw cop. A shifter who shows up to events on time and dressed appropriately, more or less. Hazel’s struggling to come to terms with Elliot’s complex double life. She’s got trust issues and who could blame her, after a magical upbringing more screwed up than Cinderella’s? But now Granny Sage, Hazel’s beloved mentor, lies helpless in a magical coma.

Some may consider that only good news since I'll no longer run the risk of getting my ass thrown in a grim reaper prison for the rest of my extremely long life. Longevity comes with the phoenix nametag. Except I happen to enjoy the thrill of the hunt that comes with relieving goods from my unsuspecting targets.

Stealing objects for supernatural clients is my bread and butter. Murder? Not so much. As a phoenix, I’m used to burning hot and rising from the ashes. That’s why I chose to make my living as a world-class thief. Some say it’s dangerous. I call it fun. Or it is until someone beats me to my latest mark, stealing the prize and killing a fae duke in the process. To add insult to injury, I get blamed for the gruesome murder.

I’m in Hell, but some witch I know calls it Arizona. At least Tucson’s an excellent place to hide from the hefty bounty on my head, now that the entire supernatural Community knows I’m the last phoenix. Catching me comes with a set-for-life kind of price tag. I don’t blame the bounty hunters; business is business after all. But I’m beyond pissed at the maniacal mage who outed me and caused this whole mess.

Stockings are hung, lights are lit, and the annual Branson Falls holiday tradition of leaving gifts on a neighbor’s doorstep, ringing the doorbell, and running, has begun. When the gifts turn from the usual baked goods to cash and other high value presents, theories about the mystery gift giver range from miracles to magic elves. Kate’s not sure who the secret Santa is, but she has some theories.

Journalist and editor of The Branson Tribune, Kate Saxee, has a lot going on. Her mom is in a war with a neighbor, Kate’s trying to navigate her love life after a memorable Halloween party, and it looks like a serial killer might be on the loose in her small rural community that’s getting bigger by the day. Utah’s population is booming and new houses are being built faster than LDS/Mormon temples.
