A visit to Krakow intended to test a new relationship turns out to be fraught with danger when two Americans encounter a man pursuing a dark ambition in the waning months of the last millennium. Adam Kasper is a historian delving into the archives of an old museum; traveling with him is Joan Templeton, a journalist.

The spiral message of 242 figures stamped on both sides of the disc has remained undecipherable for over 100 years by the world's top archaeologists and cryptologists.

Constance Wilson and Nicolo Amati were born at the same time, on the same day, but exactly two years apart. Not only two years apart, but from worlds over eight thousand miles apart. A difference in both time and space. Time and space, two terms these two people would learn about later in life. They would learn that they could not control the time part of this problem, and were always faced with this two year intermission for the rest of their lives. They did learn however, that they could control the space.
