Even though a lot of kids at school call Derek a spoiled brat, Jessi likes him immediately. He rides bikes and eats junk food like a normal kid, but he has exciting stories about Hollywood, too! Maybe Jessi would like to be a star, too!

Is she Mrs. Porter...or a witch? Karen lives next door to an old lady named Mrs. Porter. Mrs. Porter wears long black robes and has wild gray hair. Her black cat is named Midnight. No wonder Karen thinks Mrs. Porter is a witch! Mrs. Porter is having a meeting at her house. Karen is sure the meeting is for witches. Are the witches going to cast a spell on Karen? Or will she be brave enough to send them away - once and for all?

Running a day camp with her fellow club members, Mary Anne finds her ideal summer complicated by her father's two-week business trip, rivalries among the young campers, and a sprained ankle.

Kristy believes that the autistic child she sits for is normal enough to attend special ed classes at school. After a while though, she realizes that Susan would be better off with children like herself.

The baby-sitters are in double trouble when the sponsor for Kristy's softball team, a diaper company, wants to re-name the team "The Davis Diapers", and overbooking on the business end of things makes the club swear in a new member.

The baby-sitters love getting new clients. So when the Lowells contact the club, everyone is thrilled. For Mary Anne, sitting for the Lowells is a snap, and the kids are adorable and obedient. But when Claudia meets the family, Mrs. Lowell will barely look her in the eye, and the kids are downright rude! The next time Mrs. Lowell calls the BSC, she requests another sitter - anyone but Claudia. Claudia has no idea what she did wrong, but the BSC won't rest until they find out!

Despite her busy fall schedule, Stacey takes on the project of helping the fashion clueless newcomer Tess to become better educated about clothing and makeup, but the well-meaning baby-sitter is soon frustrated by Tess's resistance.

Summertime in Stoneybrook finds the members of the Baby-sitters Club overwhelmed by client demands and a forthcoming trip to Hawaii - a situation that results in the enlistment of three unlikely sitters-in-training.

Pep rally, a big game...some of the kids are getting too involved in School Spirit Month. They make fun of the people who don't participate.

No fair! Karen is having a bad-luck day. Her favorite jeans are missing. There's no prize in the Crunch-O cereal box. And Boo-Boo the cat runs away from her! Karen tries everything to make her day better. But her bad luck just won't go away. She even gets punished and sent to her room! Poor Karen - will this be her worst day ever?

Claudia's loving the October weather and her many friends, both in school and in the BSC. But when she throws a party to bring her two groups of pals together, she creates more problems than she solves.

Kristy finds herself in the middle of trouble between her friend and fellow baby-sitter, Shannon, and Shannon's two younger sisters, Tiffany and Maria. Kristy wants to help the sisters smooth out their problems, so that everyone will be happy.

Stacey starts dating a jock basketball player and falls in with a super-cool crowd, including the cheerleaders who ask her to try out for the squad.

Kristy's up for the best spring vacation ever - a week of baseball with famous major leaguers at Bill Bain's Dream Camp. Together with her stepdad, Kristy enjoys the all-star week of a lifetime.
