The dog days of summer are here and the heat isn't the only thing oppressing the populace in Whisper Cove. No, it seems that feelings - the big "L" word, to be exact - are weighing heavily on Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe. Both halves of Whisper Cove's favorite couple are both desperate and terrified to say it.

Harper Harlow is going on vacation. Sure, it’s not the romantic trip she was envisioning with her fiancé Jared Monroe - especially since her best friend Zander is acting as a third wheel when it comes to the long-planned cruise - but it’s a break from the weather and a chance for fun in the sun. Rowan Gray is excited. She and her boyfriend Quinn Davenport are getting closer to solving a personal mystery, which plays into her paranormal past, and she’s simply happy doing her job on the bounding storm for the next few days.

Almost six years ago, Harper Harlow’s boyfriend was involved in a car accident and walked away from the scene. Severely injured, law enforcement believed him dead and gave up looking. It seems they were wrong. Quinn Jackson is back...and he’s very much alive. His memory isn’t what it used to be, but he’s quickly putting things together. One of the first people he wants to see when his life comes roaring back is the woman he left behind.

It seems Phantoms, one of the most popular shows on the Independent Ghost Hunting Network, is interested in doing a location shoot at Ludington Asylum, which just happens to be located on a small island near Whisper Cove. Since childhood, Harper Harlow has been infatuated with the story of a crazy doctor gone rogue and the resulting investigation that found numerous missing patients (but no bodies) at the former institution. Producers want to feature Harper and Zander on their show, and Zander is happy to oblige despite Harper's reticence.

When Rowan’s friends Sally and Demarcus arrive on their new purchase, a vintage steamboat they want to refurbish so they can turn it into a floating restaurant and casino, Rowan and her husband, Quinn, are thrilled to reunite with them. That only lasts until their daughter, Lana, asks about the invisible children on the boat. It seems there are a lot of them, and they just might be dead.

Ofelia and her boyfriend Zach Sully are part of the first team to visit the boat, and almost immediately Ofelia is struck by the reality they’re not alone.

Maddie Graves-Winters should be preparing for the biggest day of her life–she’s going to become a mother in three months after all–but that’s impossible without the right crib. Unfortunately for them, that means murder is on the menu...and this newest body is dropped in Ivy’s nursery parking lot. Jack is a mess when he realizes a sniper took out a local woman. Ivy, although shocked because it happened right in front of her eyes, is also intrigued. When the duo starts digging, they find themselves drawn into an ugly underworld that’s happening right under their noses.

Now that she’s absorbed the power of the Casper Creek nexus, Hannah Hickok is a witch on a mission. Her new powers require regular venting, and she’s surpassed even her limited expectations. It’s not magic on her mind when her father comes for a visit, though. Brad Hickok has always wanted to see Casper Creek, and now that he gets to visit, he’s extremely excited. He’s not alone, though. He’s brought his new girlfriend...and Hannah is thrown for a loop by her appearance.

Jared Monroe decided to surprise his new wife with a honeymoon in Salem, Massachusetts. The goal was to have fun, bask in the sun, and eat some good seafood. The fact that there’s a ghost hunting conference happening at the same time is just added icing on the cupcake of life. Then the unthinkable happens, and Harper’s best friend Zander Pritchett magically shows up for the conference...and decides to hijack their honeymoon. Jared might be able to put up with Zander, but when a missing girl and several ghosts rile up the atmosphere, things threaten to spiral out of control.

Harper Harlow’s romantic life is perfect, her wedding is in the works, and now she’s decided to enhance her business standing by attending a haunted campground opening. If she enjoys herself, publicly endorses it and the owner, then she’ll open up a brave new world. Unfortunately for Harper, old ghosts die hard and a fresh murder taints what is supposed to be a quiet weekend.

Ofelia Archer is living the dream...or as close as seemingly possible. She owns her own business, her father seems to be on an even keel, and her new relationship with detective Zacharias Sully is cruising right along. Everything changes in an instant, though, when screams from the street lead to zombies running amok through the French Quarter. Ofelia is a tough witch who takes no guff but even she is at a loss. Who is creating the zombies? Where are they coming from? They’re not rising from the dead as much as being bumped off and used as an invading army.

Life is going well for Hannah Hickok. All that comes to a screeching halt when a guest grabs what’s supposed to be a prop gun and fires it at another guest during an altercation. Suddenly, death is calling in Casper Creek...and it’s wearing many masks. In short order, an FBI agent is put in charge of the case, Casper Creek is shut down, and Hannah and Cooper are plunged into a sundry world of magical creatures.

Harper Harlow thought the only thing she was going to have to worry about in the shadow of spring was planning her wedding. She was wrong. A string of break-ins in Whisper Cove have caught the attention of the cops, including her fiancé Jared Monroe. Things take a turn for the worse when one of those break-ins results in the death of a local barber. It seems what was once written off as teenage hijinks is something else entirely. In addition to the break-ins, Harper finds herself distracted by a new resident. He’s bringing an art gallery to town...as well as his troubled sister.

Ivy Morgan and Jack Harker don’t have many complaints. Things are good, life is quiet, and the only big thing on their to-do lists is picking a date for their wedding. Which is exactly what they’re doing when a local celebutante approaches with an offer for Jack to be on a dating show. He turns her down flat and goes on his way, but the next morning, she’s found dead and the list of suspects is endless thanks to the production landing smackdab in the middle of Shadow Lake.

For Ivy Morgan, that means deciding on the finishing touches for her basement renovation project and toiling away at her nursery to get flowers and bushes ready for the upcoming planting season. All that changes when a shot rings out and Ivy finds a dead woman in her driveway. The woman was supposed to be there, she was Ivy’s designer, after all. Still, Ivy can’t help but wonder if the designer was the intended target. The timing seems a little too convenient.
