Insbesondere die zweite Abteilung „Sklaven der Arbeit“ weiß den Leser oder in unserem Fall den Hörer zu fesseln. Anschaulich beschreibt die Vertonung dieses Romanteils die Not der Weber in Karl Mays Heimat und schildert eine Intrige, die vor langer Zeit passierte und der sich nun der geheimnisvolle „Fürst des Elends“ annimmt.
