The Scarecrow of Oz is the ninth Oz book. In this story, Trot, a young girl from California, and her peg-legged sailor friend, Cap'n Bill, find themselves on a perilous voyage when a whirlpool leaves them stranded in an underwater cave. There they are befriended by a most curious creature - the Ork. With four paddle-like wings, legs like a stork's, a parrot's head, and a tail like a propeller, the Ork proves to be a very welcome and helpful companion.

Adapted from the novel by L. Frank Baum.... Dorothy lives in Kansas, but one day a cyclone blows her and her house to a strange country called Oz. There, Dorothy makes friends with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. But she wants to go home to Kansas. Only one person can help her, and that is the country’s famous Wizard of Oz. So Dorothy and her friends follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the Wizard.

The Road to Oz is the fifth Oz book. In this book, Dorothy and Toto are off again on an exciting adventure down the road to Oz. In order to help the Shaggy Man, Dorothy and Toto must journey through magical and mysterious lands. Soon the three are joined by a lost boy named Button-Bright and the beautiful young Polychrome, the Rainbow's Daughter.

Back in 1900 author L. Frank Baum says he wrote The Wonderful Wizard of Oz to please children of his time. He called it a modernized fairy tale, totally unlike older stories often filled with blood-curdling events. He left out the heartaches and nightmares. He pointed out youngsters have long had a love of fantastic stories, but times change and they look forward more to entertainment that still has the wonderment and joy of time gone by. His fantastic creation of Oz provides exactly that.

Twinkle is a little girl who often finds herself caught up in fantastic adventures. The 10th and final book in the series for adolescent girls sees two of the three cousins react to atrocities in World War I by volunteering in the Red Cross. Written under the pseudonym of Edith Van Dyne, this is the 1915 version, which reflects United States' neutrality.
