I can’t say for sure that I adopted my rescue dog so I had an excuse to see Bettie at the dog park again. But if I’m being honest with you, or myself, that was definitely part of the reason I did. So when I ran into her after just a week of trekking uptown to our old haunt with my new mutt, I was thrilled to see her again. Even better, she seemed happy to see me, too.

Once I reconnected with Bettie, I was in heaven. I’d never had a girlfriend like her and I was over the moon about it. That should have been enough. But it wasn’t. Not just because I wanted more, although I did want more. I never would have considered what came to pass unless Bette wanted it too. Did she really want it, though? Or was she just telling me what she thought I wanted to hear?

Now that I’ve moved in with Bettie, she convinced me to sleep with Marcella. It was all I dreamed it could be and then some. But when she invited Marcella into our bed, I made sure Marcella knew why. Which worked out better than anyone could have hoped. That leaves Jackie, the one who suggested sharing me in the first place. Bet you can’t guess what happened next.

They say you should be careful what you wish for because you might get it. What they don’t say is that if you do get your wish it can turn out great. Better than great — better than you ever imagined. Because sometimes, things just work. And when they do… It’s amazing.

I came so close to screwing things up by getting full of myself. Then life and a beautiful woman put me in my place. Which is the second-best thing that ever happened to me. What’s the best thing that ever happened to me? Come on. You already know the answer to that question, don’t you?

Now that Danielle has agreed to join our new family, things are changing quickly. We’re adjusting but it’s a challenge and a joy at the same time. I’ve got my hands full but I’m not complaining. Especially when I get my first glimpse of Danielle’s ex, Chloe. Who might join us as well.

With our growing family filling our apartment, we turn to other matters. Some of the women I live with want to be mothers. But before we can delve into that, I get a surprise request. From my wife.

I was surprised when I saw Madison at the restaurant where I used to work. She was tatted up like no other employee I’d ever worked with. But it was her kindness and warm smile that impressed me. And when I found out she needed help, I knew what to do. Especially since I was in a place to do it.

Now that our family is complete and yet growing, we’re off to France. First class all the way, at Bettie’s insistence of course. Not that she’s in charge or anything. But how can I say no to her? The woman who made it all possible. I can’t, of course. Life is good.
