Lonely archeologist Maryn Ferguson studies the past as if she belongs there, but when she and her team uncover an ancient artifact in the peat bogs of Scotland, her carefully controlled life spins out of control. Pulled under a Fairy Dun by none other than the Celtic goddess of winter, Cailleach, Maryn cannot reconcile the black and white world of academia with a land of fairies, gods, and monsters. Worse yet, the goddess of spring is missing, having failed to meet Cailleach in the usual ritual that ushers in her season.
