All that remains of them is a grim scene aboard their half-submerged yacht and a digital trail of clues that could put Boyd and his daughter, Emma, in danger.

However, as she digs into both it soon becomes apparent that they are connected to a third death, the eldest resident of an old people’s home.

With Boyd starting his phased return to the CID department, DS Samantha Okeke is once again in the driving seat. So when Okeke takes a call from a child psychiatrist about one of his patients, a troubled thirteen year old girl, it's a race against time to find out whether the monster is real or imagined. Little does she know that her story is going to lead her down a rabbit hole that will bring a monster right to her front door.
