Clara, the Vampire Queen, is no more. Deposed and dumped in a magical town she can't escape from and contemplating the state of well… everything, Clara has had better days. But it's hard to keep a feisty vampire like her down. When a magical explosion goes off in the middle of the night, Clara and her part-demon BFF investigate only to find a bewildered truck driver with no memory of his arrival and a tantalizing trace of magic swirling through the air.

Now that the entire town knows who Clara is unofficially related to, she's even more of a social pariah than before. To make matters worse, the spell keeping the town guarded and safe is failing. Naturally, it's her fault. But that's not all. One of the mysterious strangers Clara met before has revealed his heritage and made it very clear he doesn't want her around.
