War of the Alliance

Born with his father's legendary magic, half-elf Fieran Laesornysh longs to prove himself worthy of the elven heritage he carries. With the Alliance Kingdoms and the power-hungry Mongavarian Empire teetering on the brink of war, Fieran seizes his chance to take to the skies and become a legend in his own right. He just has to curb his cheekiness and survive the rigors of basic training first.

With the Alliance Kingdoms and the Empire of Mongavaria now at war, half-elf Fieran Laesornysh has been sent to the naval base of Dar Goranth with one mission: protect the strategically important base from attack. But when he arrives, he discovers there are no aeroplanes for his men, they have been assigned to a squadron of elves, and the elven commander resents Fieran for his lineage. Defending Dar Goranth will be a little difficult if he can't even get off the ground.

After their victory in the skies over Dar Goranth, Fieran and his newly-unified squadron travel to Fort Defense to reinforce the squadrons defending the Escarlish-Mongavarian border. Once there, they discover a harsher war than they have yet experienced. The constant dogfights are exhausting, the bombings are frequent, and the death toll is high. Even two warriors with the magic of the ancient kings might not be enough.

After falling from the sky, Fieran is sent home to heal. But healing his body is only a minor battle compared to healing his friendship with Merrik and pursuing his relationship with Pip. Pip travels to Aldon to work at the AMPC and solve a tricky mechanical problem. But inventing mechanics is nothing compared to meeting more of Fieran's family. Can she embrace this new step? Whether at home or at the front, the war threatens those Fieran and Pip love. With his squadron at his back and Pip at his side, Fieran fights as he has never fought before to protect the Alliance.
