Zombie Fallout

Nigeria. The densely packed cities are abandoned and in ruins. Isolated villages survive behind locked doors under constant threat of a war on two fronts; a war the living cannot win. Michael Talbot and his crew are sailing happily along aboard their nuclear aircraft carrier, The USS Jimmy Carter, building an ideal community, saving the planet from zombies and madmen in ports far and wide and...nope. That's some other book. The gang's out to sea alright, but under the worst possible meaning of the phrase.

The crew of the SS Jimmy Carter is stranded on the tropical shoreline of Brazil, but Mike Talbot and his squad are not enjoying the beach. The Brazilian government might have failed in the end times, but the jungle is rife with violently patriotic guerrillas—and not the cool banana-eating type. Humans can be reasonable, more or less...but zombies? Not so much. The undead are alive and well in South America, and they are raging.

Strength dwindles as the Talbot tribe make their trek into the Darien Gap, 60 miles of broken highway and inhospitable terrain through the sweltering Central American wilderness. Stinging from their recent losses, the group is forced to sleep suspended in trees to avoid the hordes thriving there, but that brings only a temporary, miserable reprieve.

In an oil refinery deep inside the Brazilian jungle, the Talbot clan awaits a breakthrough as their scientists work nonstop to produce usable fuel. But on the verge of success, an oversight brings down the wrath of both a giant horde and the persistent Brazilian military. In a shocking development, Mike discovers a possible zombie liaison within their ranks, one that could save the day—or destroy them all—and it’s unclear which way she leans. Hostages, treachery, sacrifice and fierce battle mark this chapter in the Zombie Fallout saga...just as hope is finally on the horizon.
