About this listen

You shouldn't be here, little girl. Whatever you do, don't run. Because we'll chase you.

Luna: Making new friends, that's what traveling is all about, right? It's midnight, I'm running through the woods outside an enormous mansion. Men in masks are chasing me, and my new "friends" are nowhere to be found. I've been set up. And I have no way to get out of this.

Kai: This girl is easy prey, with her terrified blue eyes and that blonde hair streaming behind her as she runs. It's like offering a raw steak to a pack of rabid dogs. I'm going to catch her first, because in the Dark Games, it's Finders, Keepers. Even if she doesn't want to be kept.

  • Primal play
  • Hades & Persephone vibes
  • Billionaire v. poor girl
  • Protective, touch her and die MMC

Loved the narration from Zee Dara and Tom Red. American, Scottish and English accents and drama , action , pace and romance.

Luna finds herself on an Island that games are played. Games that you don’t want to lose or be part of. Being hood winked to into going to the Island, is just the start.
Kai is fed up with the games, and learning that Luna is an innocent and did not know why she had been brought to the Island. Kai knew he had to keep her safe.
This book has mafia, action, betrayal, drama and chemistry. Not forgetting the twists and turns.

Oh, good lordy lord. I wasn’t sure if I would be ok with a morally grey protagonist, but it turns out that yes, yes, I am! More than that though, I really enjoyed my reading boundaries being pushed. I’m also 100% sure that the perfect choice of narrators, with beautiful Scottish accents, enhanced my enjoyment of this absolutely superb book. I only wish that I had read book 1 first.

Luna is a slightly naïve young lady from Iowa who is backpacking her way around the world. When she and her new friend Marla are invited to a house party, they have no idea what they are letting themselves in for. They arrive by boat to a small Scottish island and are taken to a luxurious mansion where they assume the party is being held. What they didn’t anticipate was the ‘Lords of Chaos’ or the ‘Deadly Games’. I thought this was going to be the whole story but it’s literally the tip of the iceberg.

This book has it all. Twists and turns galore, violence, murder, spice and even humour. Arianna has totally smashed it out the park with this book in my opinion. I’m really hoping there will be many, many more in this series.

“The bed creaks like Aunt Martha’s arthritic knees”.

This is the second book in the MacTavish Heirs series and a standalone story of Kia and Luna. I loved this audiobook. I found myself laughing at their humor. I could tell the family loves each other. It does contain some trigger warnings of violence and death. I love the chemistry between the main characters and how they fall in love. I would recommend the first book in the series only because I love the series. There is just something about a story that you can lose yourself in and it was one where i could not wait to listen to the audiobook. Happy ever after ending incuded.

My first Scottish mafia book. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Surprisingly well narrated with numerous different accents. Scottish, American and English all done with finesse. The story is well structured and I really didn’t want it to end. The steamy scenes were fire.
