Axel Ulrich spent many years as an economics journalist, management consultant and entrepeneur in the IT-field before deciding that fiction was a far more honest way to examine how the world actually works. His Herbert series grew from a simple question: what would a genuinely well-intentioned outsider make of the way humans organise themselves — politically, institutionally, and personally? The answer turned out to be both funnier and more unsettling than expected. Axel lives in Switzerland and writes satirical fiction for adults who have worked inside enough systems to find them quietly absurd.
