Brian Price is a scientist and crime author who advises other writers on the scientific aspects of crime. His book, Crime writing: How to write the science is a well-regarded guide for writers wishing to avoid scientific mistakes. Brian is the author of the DC Mel Cotton police thrillers. The first, Fatal Trade, was published by Hobeck Books in 2021. A free novella, Fatal Beginnings, is available from the publisher. The other books in the series are Fatal Hate, Fatal Dose, Fatal Blow, Fatal Image and Fatal Shot. The seventh, Fatal Trap, will be published in Autumn 2026. He has had stories published in the charity anthologies, The Dark Side of Christmas and Cooking the Books (published by Hobeck). His short story The Scent of an Ending appeared in the Crime Writers Association collection Music of the Night and another story will appear in the forthcoming CWA anthology Guilty Secrets..
