Brittany Mazique is a children's book author who writes for Disney and is the creator of the acclaimed Millie Magnus chapter book series. Her Disney titles include Walt Disney's Cinderella: 75th Anniversary Edition, The Little Mermaid: Adventures on Land, and Tiana and the Mardi Gras Parade. Her original Millie Magnus series — praised by Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, The Washington Post, School Library Journal, and Booklist — follows an exuberant third-grader navigating friendship, courage, and growing up with humor, heart, and a pet chicken named Extra Spicy. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, and shaped by formative years in New Orleans, Brittany grew up loving books but noticed most of her favorite characters didn't look like her. So she reimagined them. That instinct became her mission: creating stories where every child — especially Black and brown children — can see themselves as the hero.
