Carla Damron writes fiction on a mission. A social worker and advocate, she believes fiction can both entertain and educate. Her lastest novel, THE WEIRD GIRL, won the Claymore Judge's pick award and its prequel, THE ORCHID TATTOO, won the Indie Excellence award for best suspense. She's also the author of THE STONE NECKLACE, which won the WFWA Star Award for best novel. Damron also authors the Caleb Knowles mystery novels, including Keeping Silent, Spider Blue, and Death in Zooville. In each, she explores social issues like addiction, homelessness, and mental illness. She lives in South Carolina with her husband and small gang of poorly behaved, beloved, rescue animals. She holds an MSW, and an MFA in Creative Writing.
