Cathy Cole is a novelist, prize-winning short story writer, and Pushcart nominated poet from Northern Ireland. Her first short story won a national award and was broadcast on local radio. Her next took second place in the University of Winchester "Reaching Out" competition. You'll also find her work in the 2009 and 2010 A Writers' Christmas — anthologies published for charity— and in Bridge House Publishing's Crime After Crime anthology, released December 2012. In 2018, Cathy’s first ever attempt at a poem was accepted by the Community Arts Project for their anthology Resonance, and her second - a Haibun - published in The Trees of Kilbroney (Light 2000), was nominated for the 2019 Pushcart Prize.  Cathy writes mainly in the mystery/psychological suspense genre. Her debut novel 'Where There’s Smoke' was published in March 2017 by Fireborn Publishing. (Later, independently published.) Her next novel, 'The Hungry Ghost,' won the Owned Voices Novel Award 2021. She has a two-book deal from Orion Fiction for her second and third novels, with the first 'The Wedding' being published in 2026. Cathy is represented by Katie Fulford/ Bell Lomax Moreton.
