Clifford Thompson is a 2013 winner of the Whiting Writers' Award for nonfiction, and his book Jazz June: A Self-Portrait in Essays (2025) was a finalist for the PEN America award for the Art of the Essay. His work has appeared in Best American Essays and the Pushcart Prize anthology. Thompson's novels Let Us Go Then, You and I and Miles from Home are fortcoming from Running Wild Press. His graphic narratives series, Connecticus Diggs, Cultural Detective, which he writes and illustrates, has appeared quarterly in Cleaver magazine since March 2025.
