Daniel J. Ahearn, LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified drug and alcohol counselor specializing in attachment repair for men, fathers, adolescents, and families. As Director of Culture at Ascend Healthcare, a residential treatment facility for at-risk adolescents, he provides clinical leadership and direct therapeutic care. Certified in Integrative Attachment Therapy, Daniel studied directly with the protocol's developers, Dr. Dan P. Brown and Dr. David Elliott, beginning in 2018. Dr. Elliott has described Daniel's work as having "creatively expanded the Three Pillars psychotherapy model to be effective for adolescents and their families," noting that he has "taken this work beyond what I would have been able to do." His work bridges Western attachment science with Eastern contemplative practice — he has maintained a daily meditation practice for more than twenty years and studies within the Bön Buddhist tradition. Trained in clinical hypnosis and ecopsychology, he brings multiple modalities to his attachment-focused approach. Before dedicating himself fully to clinical work, Daniel spent years as an indie artist and songwriter, an experience that deepened his understanding of creative expression, vulnerability, and the search for authentic connection. He lives in California with his family and maintains a private practice alongside his institutional and teaching work.
