Debra Moioffer is a children’s author and illustrator who writes nature-inspired stories from her gamebird farm in rural Wisconsin. Surrounded by bobwhite quail, chukar partridge, and wide northern skies, she finds daily inspiration for stories that celebrate curiosity, friendship, imagination, and the beauty of the natural world. Her picture books blend lyrical storytelling with expressive illustrations, inviting young readers to explore kindness, discovery, and emotional understanding. Debra’s growing collection of books includes three story worlds for young readers: the Gamebird Series, inspired by countryside wildlife; the Magical Series, filled with wonder and imagination; and the Nature Series, celebrating the quiet magic found in everyday moments outdoors. Before becoming an author, Debra worked as a designer, educator, and entrepreneur—experiences that shaped her belief that creativity and learning go hand in hand. She lives on the farm with her husband, two dogs, one cat, three fish, and a lively flock of quail and chukar who sometimes seem to inspire stories of their own.
