Anita Collins was born in Canberra, Australia and started learning the clarinet at age 9. She became a high school music teacher after deciding that the concert stage was not for her, but then became fascinated by how music learning changed the brain's of her students. For the last 10 years she has been studying and interviewing neuroscientists and psychologists around the world about the emerging research into how music learning supercharges our brains.
