Shawn Phillips is the Site Director of AFRL Rocket Lab, located within the Mojave Desert of California (yes, he used to be a real rocket scientist, but an unfortunate lobotomy forced him to move into management). He received his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Hope College and his PhD from UC Irvine. He revisited his childhood passion for creative writing at the ripe age of 35, with the release of his first novel Dillon's Dream: Water & Earth (which should be removed from publication). His follow-up paranormal fiction novel The Doppler Affect fared much better, even if some still struggle with the title's play on words. Shawn's area of writing is something he coined fant2sci, where he uses science to bridge the gap between fantasy and science fiction. His dream is that one day someone places the word on Wikipedia and gives him no credit. Two challenging teenage boys and an incredibly wonderful wife ensure his ego stays in check. Shawn's hobbies included martial arts, running, weight lifting and any form of exercise where athletic ability is not a requirement.
