Fred Rohan-Vargas, an artist of Latino Caribbean descent, captivates audiences with his eclectic storytelling across various media, including plays, short stories, articles, poetry, and songs. He has an MFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and has dedicated 25 years to teaching in New York City's public school system. One of his standout achievements, "The Island of Yaki Yim Bamboo," was masterfully adapted into a musical that enchanted audiences when it was staged by the esteemed 13th Street Repertory Theatre Company at Manhattan's West Village in 2015. Now residing in New York with his family, Mr. Rohan-Vargas continues to inspire and engage through his art, making a significant impact on the cultural landscape.
