J.D. Kraus was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Since grade school, he knew he was different. He did not like noisy environments and had difficulty socializing with kids his age. This young man was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome (AS). Rather than feeling labeled or cast out from society because of this diagnosis, he embraced it. During his final year of high school, he wrote his first book "The Aspie Teen's Survival Guide," which details both his experiences with AS and how he found ways to cope with the day-to-day struggles, whether it be experiencing a meltdown in an unfamiliar environment, taking tests, or interacting with his peers. The book won a literary award in 2011. His second book "The Aspie College, Work, and Travel Survival Guide" was released in 2016. This book focuses on high school into early adulthood for people with Autism. He recently published his first novel "Trance Seeker: Awakening," a YA horror fantasy about a teenager with an active imagination, stalked by an ancient evil.
