Dr. Janet Rosenzweig has spent more than four decades helping families, professionals, and communities understand child sexual development, prevent sexual abuse, and respond wisely when children are at risk. A nationally recognized educator, researcher, author, and policy leader, she brings both professional expertise and plainspoken guidance to one of the hardest topics parents face. Janet holds a PhD in social work and public policy from Rutgers University, an MPA from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and degrees in human development and health education from Penn State. Her leadership roles have included Executive Director of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and Vice President for Research and Programs at Prevent Child Abuse America. In the new and expanded edition of The Sex-Wise Parent, Janet helps parents move beyond fear, shame, and silence so they can raise sexually healthy, safe, respectful children in a complicated world. She writes for real parents — busy, loving, sometimes overwhelmed adults who want to protect their children while supporting healthy sexual development with calm, accurate, age-appropriate guidance.
