Born in Washington, D.C., and raised inside the Capital Beltway, she studied agriculture in the Midwest and lived in California. She now makes her home on a small farm in central Maryland, just outside the nation’s capital, where she lives with her partner and an assortment of animals including horses, a miniature donkey, a dog, a cat, and an Amazon parrot.
