Raj Ananthanpillai is a leading authority on digital trust, identity, and privacy in an age of pervasive data and institutional trust erosion. Raj is a passionate advocate for individual’s data control while enabling businesses with high assurance Identity (human) verification and screening solutions. As founder and CEO of Trua, he is pioneering a new trust layer for the internet: reusable, privacy-first tokenized digital credentials that enable individuals to securely prove identity, qualifications, and background without relinquishing control or exposing their personal information. He previously built and scaled several high impact technology companies - founding Endera (acquired by Trua in 2023 and now its risk-intelligence subsidiary), successfully leading and scaling InfoZen—a premier risk management solutions company subsequently acquired by ManTech International in 2017 (now part of The Carlyle Group in 2022)—and founded NetBalance (successfully acquired in 2000). His ventures have delivered mission-critical solutions for federal agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and global institutions, including foundational contributions to several national security programs like TSA PreCheck. Holder of two master’s degrees—one in Engineering Physics and one in Electrical Engineering—Raj is an inventor with 8 U.S. patents in dynamic trust scoring, intelligent systems management, and privacy-preserving identity frameworks. He is the author of two earlier books on resilient global systems architectures and has advised governments, financial institutions, and corporate boards on the intersection of security, risk, connectivity, and management. Beyond his professional achievements, Raj’s passion for education extends beyond his own field, encompassing early childhood arts and science education, STEM, American history, and civics. He serves on the Board of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, as an Advisory Board Member for the University of Kansas School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and as a Cabinet member of the National Council of the White House Historical Association.
