Since 1994, Robin Boyle-Laisure has been teaching legal research and writing, contract drafting, the doctrine of contracts, and scholarly research and writing. Professor Boyle-Laisure is a full-time faculty member at St. John's University School of Law in New York City. Her debut nonfiction book is Taken No More: Protect Your Children Against Traffickers and Cults (Bloomsbury 2025). Also, she has published 3 academic books. She is the author of Teaching Contract Drafting (Edward Elgar 2023) and co-author of Becoming a Legal Writer: A Workbook with Explanations to Develop Objective Legal Analysis and Writing Skills (with Christine Coughlin & Sandy Patrick) (Carolina Academic Press, 2d edition 2025) and of Persuasive Advocacy in Action: A Workbook for Law Students (with Laura Graham) (Carolina Academic Press 2025). Taken No More reflects her research and publications for nearly 3 decades on the topic of human trafficking and cults. Her academic books reflect her experience as a transactional attorney at a large Wall Street law firm, clerkship for a Bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of NY courts, and bankruptcy practice in a large litigation-based law firm. She is a graduate of Fordham University School of Law and Vassar College. Prof. Boyle-Laisure provides pro bono legal services to nonprofit organizations and to underrepresented individuals. She regularly presents at academic conferences domestically and internationally, and before community groups. She serves on various boards of directors, including the International Cultic Studies Association. She lives on Long Island, NY, with her husband, Paul Skip Laisure, a criminal defense attorney representing indigent clients on appeal. Their daughter, Andrea Laisure, is a professional dancer in NYC and is assisting with publicity for Taken No More. Her twin brother, Corey, is in Los Angeles working in visual effects within the film industry. Currently, Prof. Boyle-Laisure is earning an MFA in Creative Writing at Adelphi University.
