Ronald Drabkin is a Japan based historian of the Imperial Japanese Navy. His initial curiosity about naval history started as a child, thanks to the stories of family members who had served in the U.S. Navy and U.S Intelligence. Curiosity initially drove a voyage of discovery into previously classified documents that resulted in peer reviewed articles. His first book, Beverly Hills Spy, was one of Kirkus Reviews’ top 20 books of the month. For his second book, he dug into the life of Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto in the offices of professors, veterans and in archives across Japan. Prior to writing, he worked at early stage startups in the US, where he was an early adopter of Google and Facebook advertising.
