Stephen J. Robin was born in London in 1951, studied architecture at UCL, and was the joint winner of the 1973 Royal Academy Award for Architecture. He began his broadcasting career in 1974 at the BBC and worked with Sir David Frost and the "Guinness Book of Records" in 1986. In the 1987 general election, he served as media consultant to the UK Conservative Party and Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Later, while working in crisis communications, he advised the UK government under John Major on the First Gulf War. He moved to the US in 1992, continuing in corporate public relations until transitioning to chaplaincy in 2005. He is now an author and active in ministry and community service in Ferguson, Missouri.
