Where does A Quiet Life in the Country rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Nice easy listening

What did you like best about this story?

Characters were amusing, not exactly high brow literature but that wasn't what I was expecting.

What about Elizabeth Knowelden’s performance did you like?

Her accents were pretty good, easy to distinguish between different characters. I enjoyed her narration and would happily listen to her read more books.

Some of the previous reviews were unfair, if you want literature listen to something by the wonderful Jane Austen. This story doesn't pretend to be serious, it is a light hearted listen when walking the dog!

This was my first Lady Hardcastle read and it was pleasant enough and I will read again another. I tend to listen to these kind of books before I'm going to bed to get me in a nice relaxed mood! The plot was pretty thin and the characters two-dimensional, but the relationship between lady Hardcastle and her maid is amusing.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audio book. Engaging story and fun characters - I almost listened to it all in one go. Falls firmly in the "cosy murder mystery" category. Looking forward to starting the next in the series.

Slightly silly but very engaging lady and maid duo solve a murder. Their warm relationship is at the heart of it. Characters and dialogue were great, plot good enough and it was really well read. I'll be checking out others in the series!
