I could tell you the premise of the book, but the blurb will tell you all that, I have other things to talk about 😂😂 I will say it's fae and other magical beings.
So Meera is our FMC, and was she refreshing as hell! I'm exhausted by all the hard assassin type woman right now. Meera is powerful, but she thinks little of it. She's smart, resourceful, and can take care of herself. She is also extremely relatable, living her life wanting an antiques shop and trying to keep her head above water. This leads to some questionable choices, but I'm not complaining as it leads her to Vareck!
Now, Vareck is the fae King who is part of a prophecy to break the curse on his realm (one no one understands). He doesn't want it, isn't happy, and is seeking the woman of his dreams (literally from the sexy time in his dreams). Vareck is very powerful. We only see the tip of this in this book, but you are aware it's right there! He's also a golden retriever with Meera but with huge touch her a 💀 vibes for everyone else.
As the first book in a new series, it was very much an introduction to the world, main and side characters (I see some strong found family ahead). I can't wait to get to know some of the other characters on a deeper level, more spice (of course as this couple is hot), and get deeper into the story. The cliffhanger is perfection and involves two of my fave side characters. No names as we don't do spoilers here! Bring on book two!!!!
