I had previously read the ebook and really enjoyed listening to the story again. Leon has to be the perfect hero, and Ana the perfect heroine.

We follow our FMC Morgana (Ana to her friends) a feisty, clever, independent young lady who’s spent her 21 years locked away in a Manor House due to her ‘ill health and lack of magical powers’ but all is not as it seems, when she is suddenly thrown into a role she never knew was hers, and a kingdom at conflict, where she’s hunted for her power - a power she never knew was buried deep within her, a power that many believe was stolen from the gods themselves. With a target on her back, and assassins at her door (literally) she sets out on a journey with a very unlikely ally - the Fae Prince himself, also known as the ‘Nightmare Prince’ - our MMC Leon…
Leon is a morally black, brooding, grumpy Fae (the best kind right?) he’s also… deadly😏 he needs Ana to safely get him out of Trova and back to his kingdom, but along the way the deep chemistry between them blurs the lines of captor and captive, between him and his fae comrades they all build a somewhat bond with our main girl, helping her train her powers, and keeping her safe from those hunting her. It’s clear Leon is keeping a secret from Ana, one that we have yet to discover in book 1, but we really start to delve into their bond as they form a relationship, all for it to ultimately be tested to the limit in the ending with that bombshell— perfect set up for book 2 where our main characters will have a new Enemies to Lovers role 😍 my absolute fave trope!!
We had, magic, fae, royal conflict, captor x captive, found family, spiceee😏🌶️ it was honestly hard to put the story down, you always wanted to know the next step. I have to give a shoutout to Alastor because he’s probably my favourite character, his raw honesty had me laughing out loud so much!! I’m a real sucker for a side character, and he was a brilliant one🥰
My only issue, is I now have to wait for book 2😩
