Loved this series. Its even better how the narrator gives a voice to each character and you really feel all emotions from his voices, joy, sadness, humor, this has lead me to by the rest of this series and lots more books the narrator does.

I like this book, especially the end section, but wish it included more of Chris.

So I like the series. The introduction of the younger characters I’m not sure about but I’m keen to see how that developed. So the Irish accent I can see what the other reviewers mean but honestly you get into it and it doesn’t detract from the story and I love Cronies laid back reading style.

Like other reviewers, I love this series but it was very difficult to tolerate the (allegedly) Irish accents in this one. I’m not a huge fan of American narrators, especially female ones, but have found J P Cronin easy on the ear…until now. The Irish characters sound like a combination of Irish, English, American and Scottish. Aunt Aisling reminds me of Mrs Doubtfire and I didn’t like his/her Scottish approximations either! The story is good and introduces new characters for future stories. On to the next one!

Why did the accent for the 4 Irish sisters keep drifting into an awful Dick Van Dyke mockney accent? I don't think you can be more offensive to Irish people if you tried.
