About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before.
'Sorry?' said Carrot. If it's just a thing, how can it commit murder? A sword is a thing' - he drew his own sword; it made an almost silken sound - 'and of course you can't blame a sword if someone thrust it at you, sir.'
For Commander Vimes, Head of Ankh-Morpork City Watch, life consists of troubling times, linked together by...well, more troubling times.
Right now, it's the latter. There's a werewolf with pre-lunar tension in the city, and a dwarf with attitude and a golem who's begun to think for itself, but that's just ordinary trouble. The real problem is more puzzling - people are being murdered, but there's no trace of anything alive having been at the crime scene.
So Vimes not only has to find out whodunit, but howdunit too. He's not even sure what they dun. But soon as he knows what the questions are, he's going to want some answers.
The Discworld novels can be read in any order but Feet of Clay is the third book in the City Watch series.

Feet Of Clay is a clever, cheeky, thoughtful, sweet, violent and fabulous book! From beginning to end, the story shows you the highest of every human settlement, and the lowest, and it allows you to make the choice of that, for yourself. This book is an irreverent snow globe, that when shook, has good morals and decent common sense, fluttering down into the reader’s/listener’s mind. I say fluttering because we are not bombarded with an angry, fire and brimstone, pulpit thumping sermon, delivered by an amateur student of humanity.
We are treated to a tale of human beings in weird and bizarre situations that somehow relate. There are pop culture references that sneak up and make you laugh out loud. Earning you some quality looks, mainly of bemused annoyance, from the people who are lucky to be sharing your space with you! The story, maybe, tells you to remember that whoever you are, you are seen, you matter. It tells you that being in the company of dear old Nobby Nobbs, is immensely enjoyable!?! So, you…see, we all have a, golem like, spark of light within us. We can be interesting and funny and tell jokes about little piano players. ;-)
The voices are immaculately portrayed, I felt like the narration was more than just a job, it was by a true fan of the Discworld, happily, bringing everything to life! I’ll let you into a secret…I have a huge crush on Sam Vimes…the voice he’s given is the voice I imagined when I first read the character. :-D
Read, laugh, enjoy! Oh, and maybe discover your own narrative…. There’s a, possible, existential crisis, free with every purchase! Yay! \o/
