Summary

He's loved her since childhood; one fake date might finally make it real.

I was 15 years old when I stood on a hill in a peach orchard with the girl of my dreams, contemplating marriage. Now I'm a hockey star, The Maverick Murphy.

I have flow on the ice and on my head, but I still have trouble forming sentences when she's around.

And she's all around—living in my house, sharing my space, so close, I can smell her perfume on my clothes.

I'm all grown up, and I'd still do anything for her.

I was 15 when I stood on a hill in my family's peach orchard with the cutest boy I knew and said I'd marry him on the spot.

Now that boy is a grown man, a hockey star with muscles and dimples and smoldering hazel eyes.

He's also my new roommate, but I'm not here to fall in love.

Our beloved peach trees are dying, and I'm here to find a cure.

When the town's rich bully threatens to own our land and me along with it, I kind of snap. I kind of say Maverick's mine for real.

It's a lie. We're only faking, but with every kiss, every touch, every stolen moment, reality starts to blur.

Still, as much as we want to pretend, he's LA's hockey champion, and when the semester ends, I'll have to leave.

That's reality.

(Flow is a hockey romance with a golden retriever hero, a STEM FMC, childhood friends to lovers, he falls first [and so hard], fake dating, close proximity, roommates to lovers, it's always been you, hilariously meddling family, and loads of spicy fun. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and no third-act breakup.)

Maverick has known Dove since they were teenagers however their lives sent them in different directions when she stayed to help at her family’s peach farm and he ended up in California playing hockey. When fate brings Dove to California to finish her degree she becomes his roommate and the feelings he had for her when they were younger only intensifies.

Dove has been studying vegetation with the intention of returns to the peach farm to help them move forward. That is put in jeopardy when there is an infestation with the trees so she has come to California hoping that her professor will be able to help her find a solution. Even knowing that she is leaving and he is staying isn’t enough to stop the feelings between them.

Both Maverick and Dove are facing challenges when it comes to the future but the love between isn’t one of them and the romance between them is enchanting. It was also fun to catch up with the other characters we know and love. Ryan Lee Dunlap brings out the charming and caring side of Maverick while Stephanie Kay allows you to feel her relationships with everyone she cares about as well as how she feels about the farm.

4.5 stars

Maverick has been a constant source of swooning in the previous books and in his own he did not disappoint. Swoony, dreamy, good cook, passionate and an overall great person. Dove was sweet and easygoing, devoted to her family legacy and fiery. Their relationship moved really quickly from housemates to friends with benefits but it was good to listen how they have fallen in love without losing themselves in the process.
My only niggle was the Jessica Rabbit situation. I’m not sure if it added much to the story.
Ryan Lee Dunlap and Stefanie Kay brought so much emotion and intensity to their characters with their narration that all the yearning and smexiness could be felt through the earbuds.

Flow is the third book in The New Bradfords series, but it can be read as a stand alone. The New Bradfords series follows the next generation after The Bradford Boys series. I haven't read the other books in The New Bradfords series yet, and it wasn't necessary to enjoy Flow, but it seems like Mav may had a hand in getting the other couple together and I'd like to read more of the series. I also thought it was fun that Mav's sport was hockey since his whole family was so into football, and I really appreciated that the characters talked through their issues.

I listened to the audio version with narration by Ryan Lee Dunlap and Stefanie Kay. I'm sure that I enjoyed the story more because I listened to it, and both narrators did a fantastic job with their performances.

I received a copy of the audiobook at my request and the opinions here are my own.

Nodding, I can’t hold back the tears any longer. “Tell me something no one knows.” He slides his thumb across my cheek, wiping the tear away. “I’d give it all up for you.” I hiccup an inhale. “Maverick…” “Tell me something no one knows.” “You belong to me.”
Maverick is being in love with Dove since he was fifteen. Now, she is going to live with him for six months. Will they be able to find a way to be together forever or will their lives take them apart again? Passionate, emotional, full of feelings. The audiobook with the dual narration of Ryan Lee Dunlap and Stefanie Kay is an absolute delight. Thanks to Ear Candy Promos for the ALC. this is my honest review

I am loving the New Bradfords! Tia Louise knows how to grab my heart and keep me falling in love every time, and this one grabbed me in the best way! Maverick and Dove were friends when they were growing up. Mav's family would visit Dove's and enjoy the peach orchard views and harvest. Now adults, the two grew apart, and when Dove arrived in LA where Maverick plays hockey, he learned the plight of her family farm. Now the clock is ticking to save the trees from a fast moving disease before the entire thing is gone. The two easily fall back into their comfortable friendship and slowly their true feelings from years ago come to the forefront. But where will it lead? After all Maverick lives where he plays hockey and Dove's heart is in the land at home. And will she get the answers she needs to save it? Louise had me from the start. Living on a farm, I was all in as she was in search of answers, and getting to see these two get their chance at love made it so I could not stop listening to. This is a fabulous listen, a bonus getting to hang with characters I have gotten to know and love in previous books.

Ryan Lee Dunlap and Stefanie Kay are the story tellers for this one and made it come alive. Dunlap is so good as Maverick, the one that follows his heart to the career he loves and the woman he cannot live without. Perfect tone and emotions made him realistic. Kay is Dove, the girl who is on a mission, and while her heart is stirring, she isn't quite sure what to do with that until she does, Kay brings it alive. I enjoyed these two and loved the narration!
