About this listen

A Chaos Space Marines Novel

The Horus Heresy is over. The World Eaters are leaderless and their greatest hero is in a coma. Poised on the brink of destruction, the Legion needs Khârn—but will his awakening save them or spell their doom?

Listen because...Khârn is one of the most iconic figures in the Warhammer 40,000 setting, the epitome of Khorne's mortal servants. In this story, you can witness his transition from the World Eaters Captain of the Horus Heresy to the blood-mad betrayer feared across the 41st Millennium.

The story: the Horus Heresy is over. The traitor Legions have scattered, fleeing the wrath of a vengeful Imperium. The World Eaters are leaderless, their primarch missing and their greatest hero, Khârn, locked in a coma. The surviving Legionaries have turned upon themselves, their Butcher's Nails driving them to ever-greater acts of berserk savagery. Poised on the brink of destruction, the Legion needs direction. It needs someone to rally around. It needs Khârn—but will his awakening save them, or doom them entirely?

Fantastic story and narration. It's a novella (so short overall) but well performed, with characterful voice performances that immerse you in the 40K universe. Plenty of action, twists and turns keep things moving, yet there's also an insightful look into the World Eaters Legion here that isn't often seen in 40K fiction. Essential reading/listening for any World Eaters fan.
Kharn is of course a main character, but there are plenty of other rich supporting cast that draw you in.. highly recommended.

A classic tale of the World Eaters, well performed.

I loved the story telling of kharnes return, great imagination and immense fight scenes. Only dislike was the voices of the book, not quite the voices of warriors! However this is purely my preference.

The story of kharns return. Epic gore and battle scenes!!!

The story doesn't really get interesting until Kharn appears. The female protagonist feels more like filler and doesn't really contribute much to the story except to appease the more feminist readers. But once Kharn comes in he steals the show and the story improves greatly.

Skoral is easily forgettable.
