About this listen

Moorings is the third in a chilling series of books which will rapidly convert followers of L. J. Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis and Helen H. Durrant into David Blake devotees.

When Harry Falcon, a wealthy boatyard owner and decorated World War Two veteran, is found drowned in his bath, DI John Tanner and DC Jenny Evans start by questioning his two sons, each with a motive for wanting him dead. But when the elder son is found with his head smashed in under a toppled yacht, and the younger son has been talking to a local property developer, one who’d spent months trying to buy the yard from his father, the investigation soon leads them towards a dark and dangerous secret, one which nobody can quite believe. Set within the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a murder mystery that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.

Throughly exciting and narrated with pace. Occasional humour which balanced the story. Altogether a great listen.

I was really looking forward to tbis after moorings, but sadly it didn't live up to previous books in the series.
Negatives:
I love the narrator, but both Forrester and Jennys voices had changed tone, which I found highly annoying as they became hard to picture from the last book.
A lot of dramatic storyline that felt a little overbearing
Ending seemed very rushed, in a matter of minutes everything summed up and no consequences of what happened during the last chase.
A bit OTT

Positives
Narrator is very good, despite voice and tone changes of previous characters
Easy to picture scenarios with the descriptions
