Wasn't sure if I Iiked it at first as it wasn't at all what I expected. But very quickly I came to enjoy it. So light hearted but still a page turner, and unusual combination. Didn't take itself too seriously. Will listen to more in this series

Totally different murder mystery as so amusing

This is a bit like Christopher Brookmyre but with an even bigger helping of laughs and less violence. I estimate that this made me laugh out loud (on average) at least every 2 minutes. The plot is at times ludicrous - but who cares?! There are a multitude of film noir and murder mystery references which I'm sure will appeal in particular to readers of my generation (old). The narration was just right (I enjoy the NI accent) and I'll be reading (listening to) more from this author.

A nice change from the norm, if you listen to a lot of crime novels.
A few genuine laugh out loud moments, so don't listen on public transport maybe?
Amusing throughout with a cliff-hanger ending which made me smile and order the next in the series!

This book is a tome of intrigue, espionage, courage, incontestable and allergy ridden bravado. The laughter escaped from my lips before I was aware of it. The plot was emotionally charged that I found myself constantly listening. The writing was prolific with a twist of comedic elements that surprise the reader. I was enthralled by the story because it was told with a depth and a simplicity. I loved the reader's irish brogue. The conclusion is a twist worth waiting for. Magnificent indeed.
