Three charming small-town cozy mysteries set in the heart of Derbyshire — perfect for fans of Richard Osman, M.C. Beaton, and classic British whodunits.

Welcome to The Bookworm Bookshop & Café, where the coffee is warm, the friendships are strong, and murder is never far from the next chapter. Join Gemma, Mavis, and the rest of Belper’s quirky residents as they turn amateur sleuths.

This collection includes the first three complete novels in The Bookshop Mysteries — over 21 hours of murder, secrets, and small-town intrigue.

Book 1: A Bitter Pill

A book signing goes horribly wrong when local author Dominic Westley is found dead. What looked like a tragic accident soon reveals whispers of jealousy, hidden grudges and a dark motive buried within Belper’s literary scene. Gemma and Mavis are determined to uncover the truth — before the killer writes their final chapter.

Book 2: A Murder at the Church

A craft fair should bring cake, crafts, and community spirit… not murder. When a local man is discovered dead inside the church bell-ringing chamber, the police quickly blame a homeless man. Gemma and Mavis think otherwise — and their search for the real culprit exposes long-buried secrets the town would rather forget.

Book 3: A Legacy of Lies

A stranger’s will reading. A mysterious inheritance. A coded letter containing numbers that point to a decades-old unsolved crime. Gemma never expected to be drawn into someone else’s family secrets, but the truth the deceased man tried to reveal may put her in danger.

Rather twee my dear and predictable. As it was an offer of three titles for one credit it was good value.

I didn't want to stop listening to these books and I can't wait to listen to the others in the series

excellent

I gave the first story about three hours but it just wasn’t very thrilling. And the constant effort to make it cosy was irritating. Having said that, sometimes whole paragraphs would pass without the mention of perfectly baked flapjacks/brownies/buns or descriptions of coffee! I stopped listening because I was bored.

A bit bland. Tried too hard to be cosy

I thought it rather ironic that I'm listening to an audiobook whilst Gemma is agonising over people not buying real books from a bookshop! 😄
Good stories though and likable characters.

Enjoyable listen. Looking forward to more
