All in all - enjoyed the story, it’s a nice, easy one, and whilst at times I didn’t like the narrator, I still managed to make it through the audiobook!

DV in his past and SA in hers.
Christian Fox is perfect as Garrett.
Lorelai Avalon is hard to listen to as Hannah - a little whiny and far too slow.

Let's be honest, if you're a sucker for the delicious tension of fake dating and the raw, exhilarating energy of a hockey romance, this book is basically a literary love letter crafted just for you. From the moment Hannah and Garrett strike their unorthodox bargain, I was hooked. The chemistry crackled off the page, making their 'pretend' relationship feel utterly, undeniably real. It's the kind of story that reminds you why you fell in love with romance in the first place.
Garrett, the reformed player with a heart of gold, and Hannah, the fiercely independent woman who hides a vulnerable soul, are a match made in trope heaven. But what truly elevated this book for me was the way they handled their individual traumas. It wasn't just a plot device; it was a genuine exploration of healing and the power of finding someone who sees you, truly sees you, and supports you through your darkest moments.
While I'm a staunch believer that third-act breakups should be banished to the realm of forgotten plot twists (hence the missing star!), the sheer joy and emotional depth of the rest of the book more than made up for it.
