Summary

Two years have passed since the fateful battle in the Underworld. The mythic warrior Raine and her dragon lover, Talan’alaith’illaria, have settled down to a life of domestic bliss. The peoples of Arianthem enjoy a peace unknown for centuries. A storm brews in the Underworld, however, as the Goddess Hel fumes in her realm. Enraged by her defeat at the hands of mortals, she schemes revenge against those who humiliated her. She will risk the Allfather’s wrath to obtain that which she believes is her right and destiny: Raine at her side. And she will unleash an ancient evil to gain that which she most covets.

Raine realizes the threat and knowing that the wrath of the Goddess is most focused on her, chooses to separate herself to protect that which is most precious to her. Forced to face Hel alone, a strange and unexpected gift arrives to provide her a strength and solace that turns the tide of the mental battle she wages with the Goddess of the Dead.

The Dragon's Night continues where the last book left off. This episode is a bit slow but still a 'good listen', and because the books are episodic you need to complete the set to find out how 'it all ends' ! The character arc has narrowed and most of the story revolves around Raine with few other characters getting involved. Once again the narration is excellent !

At times, in the first Chronicles, I had to pause reading because I was nervous about what was about to happen, or the current happenings were too intense or disturbing.

But I always went back, and I was always rewarded.

That theme continues with this unexpected - but very welcome - continuation of the series.

Heart-in-my-mouth read, but oh so worth it

Another fantastic episode in this epic captivating journey. Life goes on and happiness spreads across the realms, but evil plots and waits to strike!💀
Little ones are born, 2 adorable daughters, very special baby daughters indeed, Dragons. 🐉🐉
Excellent narration that is a pure joy to listen to.🎶
