About this listen
Foxxxy Rule Number One: Never fall for a client.
Christian Webber is femme, fabulous, and an absolute freaking mess. Although he loves his chaotic life, his cherished friends, and his job dancing and escorting at the exclusive Foxxxy Gentlemen’s Club, he’s also 29, single, and facing down the very real possibility of turning into a lonely, old cat lady. But an encounter with a client’s jaded son may change everything.
Gordon van Dierman has his life figured out. He owns a business, a house, and a dog with his partner of seven years, but when he learns of his partner’s infidelity, the grumpy Dutchman abandons everything he’s built and returns to his childhood home in America to lick his wounds in peace. But a run-in with a feisty, gender-fluid escort may be just what the doctor ordered.
When Chrissy and Gordon’s lives collide, it’s hate at first sight, to be sure, but the fire between them may be more than simple loathing. You know what they say: Love and hate are horns on the same goat - or however that expression goes.
Chrissy knows better than to fall for a client. But the rules don’t say anything about a client’s son, do they?

The Foxxxy Gentlemen’s Club is male strip club with a discreet escort side business. Christian Webber has been working for Foxxxy for about ten years and loves his life. He has everything he wants (except his cat’s affections), or so he thinks. Through a strange twist of fate, Christian meets Gordon, a man who’s life has been thrown upside down by the betrayal of an ex-boyfriend. Their meeting is electric and the chemistry between them is undeniable. I loved how every time these men got together sparks flew. The snark and bickering was hilarious, and there were moments where I was laughing out loud. Although there was a lot of humor in this book, there was still many moments of drama, tenderness, and a small dash of angst. I enjoyed this book so much that I did not want it to end and I hope we get to see more of Christian and Gordon in the upcoming books in this series.
John York narrated the audiobook and did a fantastic job. He really nailed Christian’s voice and I loved the Dutch accent he did (although I am not Dutch and can’t tell if it was accurate or not). The audiobook production was well done and overall this was one of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to this year.

Narration: John York does a great job. I liked most of the different voices but initially had a little trouble with his voice for Christian. It took me a little while to warm up to it.
Side Note: I love the cover. Beautiful.

Gordan is the son who turns Chrissy’s world on end. He is trying to put his life back together after leaving his cheating boyfriend. He has not been faced with anyone quite like Chrissy. There are just so many issues between these characters. Chrissy has attitude. Gordan has a somewhat stubborn personality. This story is just so fun when the chemistry between them is so hot. This has been one of those relaxing, fun stories for me. The story flow is good. The characters are likable and I didn’t find any parts I disliked. I will be looking for more in this series.
So much fun

Foxxy's is a gentleman's club where one of the MC's, Christian, works as a dancer, choreographer and backstage manager as well as occasionally taking escort jobs. One of his regular clients is Jan, whose son happens to be staying with him one day when Christian turns up looking totally fabulous. Gordon and Christian butt heads immediately and it's really quite amusing to read as they just bounce off of each other, Christian clearly not taking it quite so seriously but for sure standing up for himself when needed. Gordon definitely balances out Christian's pep and personality with being a bit of a grouch. It's clear how much he cares for his father but family history means they haven't been that close but Gordon is back now having split with his personal and work partner. It's sweet seeing the bond between father and son rebuild but it has nothing on what's growing between Gordon and Christian. It's a case of surprise encounters, alcohol and stubbornness that brings these two men together again and again, and it's really sweet to see how close they're getting whilst still arguing about any little thing.
It does take quite a while for the two to get together and then for anything to develop from there but I enjoyed how everything progressed for all involved in regards to their friendships, romantic relationships and for Christian at his work place. I think we have enough of a lead to see who may possibly be getting their story next and I'm excited to see where that goes.
In regards to the audio, John York knocked this clear out of the park! His narration, accents, emotional portrayals are so freaking good! He totally made the story work for me and I could not stop listening. Cannot recommend listening to this enough.
Wonderful narration for a great story!
